Chitchat from a Finnish Software Engineer

Markus

Cheers and Welcome to my personal web site.

I started computing with an Amstrad PC in 1990 and after few years of playing with MS-DOS I got more interested in the software development. My first HTML-based web page was published in 1995 and soon after it was enriched by some server side Perl/CGI. Main focus to Java-language started in 1997. First web portal Alaparkki.com was programmed and launched in 2002. In 2005, I got enough resources to set up my own web hosting service to Espoo, Finland.

At first, the web hosting machine was an old Intel Celeron 466 MHz that was previously used in computer virus debugging and analyzing. In 2008, it was upgraded into dual-core system with more capacity for software testing. In 2009 the system was once again upgraded into AMD Phenom(tm) II X3 720 hardware for virtualization purposes.

The list of organizations I have worked for includes

  • NSD Consulting (Consultant)
  • Plenware (Consultant)
  • Nokia Networks (SW Developer)
  • Nokia-Siemens Networks (SW Developer)
  • Riihimäki Business College (Teacher)
  • Kelly Computer Systems (Senior Technical Consultant)

As a consultant I have been visiting several companies and projects from which I try to get the best ideas and solutions for the projects in the future.
